Dear Photographers,

Michael Connors here from www.morephotos.com.  I would like to thank each of you for all your business through the years. 2010 was a hard year for some in the industry and at MorePhotos we applaud your success and understand your concerns and fears for the future.   Our goal has always been to bring you the best product and service possible.

We can tell ourselves we cannot help you stay in business but that would be a big mistake. We are not going to stand by without helping.  To this end we are going to do more educational interviews with Pros which will be available at www.morephotosradio.com –no charge to you.  We will be shooting video between photographers and me about marketing in general and new revenue ideas.  We will work on getting more companies to post their products on www.professionalphotographysupply.com to help you keep up to date on new products and specials going on in the industry.

We want to encourage photographers to use www.morephotostalk.com so we can pin- point your concerns, and understand your needs so you will be able to share ideas with other pro shooters.

Of special interest for wedding photographers is that we are redoing the site www.weddingdetails.com to help generate more leads and bring the best information about hiring a photographer.  This site attracts thousands of brides a day.  We educate the couples on the benefits of hiring a Professional Photographer with your input; we did not take this lightly.

And I am very excited to announce our new site www.photoscramble.com – a photo contest software website where anyone can enter or set up a contest free right now. Down the road, there will be a hosting fee to set up a new contest, but never a charge for you, as our client. If you have not noticed we have been running, and will keep running, contests to give you a chance to win $49 MorePhotos credit. We thought it would be a fun way  to introduce you to the product and get you more connected with the other photographers on the system.

One way for you to benefit from PhotoScramble is to post one photo of every senior picture and tell your clients that the one with the most votes gets a free “ipad” (Or other reward you provide).  This way they get all their friends and family exposed to your work.

With all that said we need to work together.  Let’s not just survive, let’s thrive as photographers. Talk to each other often and never be afraid to dream big and share ideas, especially the crazy ones. Maybe it takes looking in the mirror to dig deep and find the passion that brought you here in the first place.

A final personal note – As some of you know I lost Kitty Karr, my soul mate and business partner, to ALS this year. It has not been easy with her gone, but her words of wisdom ring clear…….

“If we stick together we can accomplish anything.”

“Thoughts are powerful” –( I have to remind myself often on this one)

“And be careful what you wish for.”

Together we will make 2011 and beyond a great time to be a photographer!

Happy New Year,
